Hey, I wanted to let you know that I've really been enjoying reading your blog lately. It just keeps getting better and better! The frequent posts are good, too. I hate having to wait for new posts on the blogs that I like to read. :-)
You probably see more of the Tibet news than the rest of us because of your profession. I am horrified on how little news coverage there is about it in the U.S. I am getting more information talking to my mom in Taiwan than the news in the States. How sad is that?!
Yeah, unfortunately it's often a problem at the individual level. The AP does a great job sending a lot of coverage over the wire, but most newspapers don't play it very prominently. The information is there, it's just the editors and gatekeepers who fail to use it.
Also, I think that region is becoming very difficult for journalists with the huge Chinese military presence.
